Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you have a cancellation policy that charges for cancellations?
NO, we totally understand life happens and it's not too far to get to you to reschedule.
2. Do you have a waiver / liability form outlining expectations?
YES; on the booking page, you'll be able to download the PDF version. Please read and sign if you agree before the appointment if possible, phone or text with your name and pet name, 780-932-9764 if you'd like an electronic copy, or paper copy.
3. Why is trimming your pet's nails important?
Trimming the nails, not only stops scratching on the floors, or furniture, but also keeps their quick of their nails from elongating, which can cause issues such as bending of the toes, breaking the nail, or the nail curling or digging into the paw pad.
4. What is a QUICK?
The Quick is a small vessel of blood and nerves at the base of the nail. Mostly seen in dogs with white nails. Well, one can see it better in dogs with white nails. And the Quick sits at the base of the nail. Common trims can prevent the quick from becoming too long where the nail cannot be trimmed back as far as one would if the quick wasn't extended through.
5. My pet's Quick is LONG! What can or should I do?
It is recommended that weekly trimmings / grindings take place for approximately 4-6 weeks for a slow progress to re-train the nail and retract the Quick.
6. What happens if my pet's Quick get's nicked?
If it does happen, it is NOT the end of the world, I know it might seem like it, but from our experience, this occurs on occasion as the pet sometimes moves, or becomes startled mid-session. It is required to have the owner help calm the pet during this process to prevent sudden misclips. If such accidents occur, the stylist will apply a mixture of flour and corn starch to which it helps pack the quick and the nail, so then bleeding ceases. If bleeding does not stop it is recommended for a veterinarian to observe the animal and may further treat.
7. Do you also provide services for humans?
No, we give paw-dicures to species that are not humans
